The Runaways

(2010)Directed by Floria Sigismondi107 min · RDrama, Music
“It's 1975 and they're about to explode.”

In Southern California in 1975, two teenagers who don't fit in anywhere find each other: Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart), who wants an electric guitar, and Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning), who wants to be looked at. Producer Kim Fowley (Michael Shannon) gathers them into a band of girls barely out of school. The film is about what happens when girls are handed a stage before they have been allowed to grow up.
