“Time is Running Out for the Running Man...And His Woman!”

Rex Black (Laurence Harvey) holds a grudge against the insurance company that disallowed his claim, so he fakes his own death and leaves for Spain with his wife, Stella (Lee Remick). An investigator (Alan Bates) is soon on his trail, asking questions and checking the details that don't add up. Carol Reed films the chase in bright, bleached light and keeps the paperwork as tense as the pursuit.
