The Safety of Objects

“What do you hold on to when your world turns upside down?”

Esther Gold (Glenn Close) has stopped paying attention to anyone but her comatose son Paul (Joshua Jackson), and her husband and daughter have noticed. Down the same suburban street, lawyer Jim Train (Dermot Mulroney) puts his work ahead of his family, and Annette Jennings (Patricia Clarkson) tries to build her life again. Rose Troche sets about fifteen people in neighboring houses, and the film settles on Esther at her son's bedside, the room quiet around him.
