The Scarlet Flower

Nastenka (Nina Krachkovskaya), the youngest of a merchant's three daughters, asks only for a scarlet flower like the one she saw in her dreams. Her sisters laugh and ask for a tiara and a mirror frame instead, and their father sails overseas, finds every gift but hers, and turns for home still searching the shoreline. Lev Atamanov hand-draws it for the Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow, and the flower is the last thing the father is looking for.
