The Scent of Green Papaya

Mui (Trần Nữ Yên Khê) is ten years old when she leaves her village to work as a servant in a troubled, well-off family in 1950s Saigon. Trần Anh Hùng follows her through the years in that household, until she takes a post with a pianist she has admired since she was a child. Mui grows up, he notices her, and what runs between them gets harder to name.
