The Scent of the Night

Remo Guerra (Valerio Mastandrea) has stopped being a policeman and become a full-time robber in 1970s Rome, running jobs with a crew that includes Maurizio Leggeri (Marco Giallini). Each robbery pulls him further from the life he left, and the money buys him nothing but the next job. Claudio Caligari, adapting a novel by Dido Sacchettoni, shoots the city in a flat, grainy light that gives the crimes no glamour.
