The Science of Sleep

“Close your eyes. Open your heart.”

Stéphane (Gael García Bernal) is a man who lives half inside his dreams, and he is certain that Stéphanie (Charlotte Gainsbourg), the French woman who has caught his attention, would love that world if he could only show her. Michel Gondry builds it out of handmade, cardboard-and-cellophane sets, so the line between sleeping and waking never stays put. Stéphane keeps reaching for her, unable to tell which of his two lives she belongs to.
