The Scopone Game

Peppino (Alberto Sordi) is a poor Roman who has built his hopes on one night a year. That night, an aging American millionairess (Bette Davis) flies in with her chauffeur George (Joseph Cotten) to play scopone against him and his wife Antonia (Silvana Mangano). Luigi Comencini sets the card table between the two couples, and Peppino sits down to it already counting what a win would buy.
