“He was praying for a miracle. What he got was Steve Nebraska.”

Nobody can explain how a kid in rural Mexico throws a baseball harder than anyone Al Percolo (Albert Brooks) has ever seen. Al is a New York Yankees scout, sent to the middle of nowhere after one of his recruits fell apart in a Major League debut. His find, Steve Nebraska (Brendan Fraser), brings a $55 million offer and a psychiatrist, Doctor H. Aaron (Dianne Wiest). Michael Ritchie plays the whole thing deadpan.
