The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

(1947)Directed by Norman Z. McLeod110 minComedy, Fantasy, Romance
“A dream world of comedy, color and Goldwyn-Girl loveliness!”

Walter Mitty (Danny Kaye) is a magazine proofreader who lives mostly in his head, where he is a dashing hero, while at home his mother (Fay Bainter) still runs his life. A mysterious woman, Rosalind van Hoorn (Virginia Mayo), hands him a little black book said to hold the hiding places of the Dutch crown jewels. Norman Z. McLeod puts Mitty in Technicolor adventures that crowd in on the real ones, and Rosalind is the one person who seems to belong to both.
