The Secret of the Magic Gourd

“Join the BIG Adventure!”

Wang Bao (Zhu Qilong), an awkward schoolboy, finds a magic gourd that grants any wish the moment he makes it, and his classmates suddenly want to be his friend. Frankie Chung and John Chu mix live action with animation in this 2007 remake of a 1963 film, itself drawn from Zhang Tianyi's 1958 novel. Wang Bao soon finds the gourd is more burden than gift, and getting rid of it turns out harder than getting it.
