The Secrets

Noemi (Ania Bukstein), the devout and studious daughter of a prominent rabbi, persuades her father to put off her marriage for a year so she can study at a women's seminary in Safed, the old seat of Kabbalah. Avi Nesher sets her among the other young women at the school, including Michelle (Michal Shtamler), and among the elders who guard its teachings. The film puts faith and desire in the same room and asks only that its characters be honest about what they want.
