The Seduction of Mimi

“He's been a husband, a lover, a cuckold and a Communist. Now he just wants to be free.”

A Sicilian dockworker votes against a Mafia kingpin in an election that was supposed to be secret, and the next thing he knows he has no job. Mimí (Giancarlo Giannini) leaves his wife Rosalia (Agostina Belli) for Turin, where he falls in with Fiorella (Mariangela Melato), a Communist organiser. Lina Wertmüller sets a man's pride, his marriage and his politics against one another, and shows how little his convictions weigh next to his own vanity.
