The Seventh Continent

Three years pass in the life of an Austrian family: Georg (Dieter Berner), an engineer, Anna (Birgit Doll), an optometrist, and their young daughter Eva (Leni Tanzer). Nothing disturbs the routine but small annoyances, yet they are quietly planning a sinister act they tell no one about. Michael Haneke, in his first feature, shows the mornings and meals in flat detail, and all of it is counting down toward a decision that cannot be undone.
