Father Daniel (Vadhir Derbez), a rookie priest, spends his first day of training in the field beside Father Peter (Guy Pearce), an exorcist with a long reputation. The two are sent into one case after another, and the work drags both men toward the worst of what they came to fight. Justin P. Lange keeps the camera close and the pacing tight, so the dread never has room to loosen.
