The Shape of Water

In 1962 Baltimore, Elisa Esposito (Sally Hawkins), a mute cleaner at a government facility, discovers a captive creature in the tank room. The being is neither fully animal nor human, and Elisa begins visiting him in secret, drawn to a recognition of kinship in his eyes. Colonel Strickland (Michael Shannon) has plans to dissect him for the war effort, and Elisa must decide whether to let him die or risk everything to set him free.
