The Shawshank Redemption
“Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.”
Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), a banker sentenced to life in the 1940s for murdering his wife and her lover, only wants to get through Shawshank State Penitentiary with his mind intact. He tells anyone who asks that he is innocent, and puts his head down. Frank Darabont builds the film around his slow friendship with Red (Morgan Freeman), who can get you almost anything inside, and the stubborn idea that hope is worth keeping even where nobody expects it.
