The She-Creature

“Hypnotized! Reincarnated as a monster from hell!”

Dr. Carlo Lombardi (Chester Morris), a hypnotist working a boardwalk act, puts his assistant Andrea (Marla English) under trance and sends her back through her past lives. In the earliest one she is a prehistoric sea monster, and Edward L. Cahn shoots the sessions in black and white, with the quiet of a room waiting for the next voice. The idea at the center is plain: the body keeps whatever the mind has buried.
