The Shop Around the Corner

“EVERY GIRL OR FELLOW WHO EVER KEPT A “BLIND DATE””

Every morning Alfred Kralik (James Stewart) and Klara Novak (Margaret Sullavan) trade barbs behind the counter of a gift shop, and every evening each writes to an anonymous pen pal, never guessing it is the other. Ernst Lubitsch fills the shop with a small staff under Hugo Matuschek (Frank Morgan), and the letters travel by post, slowly. Two people can know each other's thoughts and still not know each other's faces.
