The Shout
“A film of intense perversity - the madness of the mind.”
Charles Crossley (Alan Bates) is a drifter who wants a place at the table of Anthony Fielding (John Hurt), a musician living with his wife Rachel (Susannah York) in a lonely stretch of Devon. He tells them of the aboriginal magic he learned abroad, and he does not leave when asked. Jerzy Skolimowski sets the three of them in a house on the Devon coast, Crossley sitting close to Rachel at the dinner table.
