The Silent Revolution
“East Germany, 1956. One minute of silence changed their lives forever.”
In 1956 Stalinstadt, East Germany, a class of high school seniors performs a silent moment that looks harmless, and the state treats it as an offense. Theo (Leonard Scheicher) and Kurt (Tom Gramenz) are among the students who stand quiet for the victims of the Hungarian uprising. Lars Kraume follows them through the questioning that comes next, and Theo, Kurt, Lena and Paul sit in rows at their school desks, no one willing to speak first.
