The Silent Star

“You are there … on man’s most incredible journey!”

In 1960, a construction crew breaks into the ground and turns up a magnetic spool that proves to have come from Venus. An international crew, among them Prof. Harringway Hawling (Oldřich Lukeš) and Prof. Saltyk (Ignacy Machowski), is sent in a rocket to find out who made it. Kurt Maetzig puts a Soviet, a Pole, a German and an African television technician, Talua (Julius Ongewe), in one cramped ship, and the film keeps asking whether they can trust each other.
