The Sin of Madelon Claudet

Madelon Claudet (Helen Hayes) comes out of jail having served time for a crime she did not commit, and no one will give her honest work. She steals and sells herself to pay for her illegitimate son's medical school, while Edgar Selwyn, working from a Hecht and MacArthur script, follows her through the years. The boy never knows what the tuition costs her.
