The Sky's the Limit

(1943)Directed by Edward H. Griffith89 minComedy, Romance, Music
“Here's a thrill, new and gay! It's a dance filled holiday!”

Fred Atwell (Fred Astaire), a Flying Tiger pilot, wants a few days of leave away from his squadron's publicity tour, so he slips off and goes incognito. He falls for Joan Manion (Joan Leslie), a photographer, and chases her as a carefree drifter with no uniform and no famous name. Edward H. Griffith sets their courtship to Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer songs, and the closer Joan gets to him, the more his borrowed identity gets in the way.
