The Slaughter Rule

“In life, every season counts.”

Roy Chutney (Ryan Gosling) is a high-school football player in contemporary Montana, a young man looking for somewhere to put himself after being cut loose from the team. Gideon "Gid" Ferguson (David Morse), a coach with a troubled streak of his own, asks him to quarterback a six-man squad. The Smith brothers, Andrew J. and Alex, set the film in that small town, where a boy needs someone to believe in him.
