The Song of Lunch
An unnamed book editor (Alan Rickman) walks into Zanzotti's, the Soho restaurant he and his old lover used to frequent, to meet her for lunch for the first time in fifteen years. She (Emma Thompson) is on her way, and Niall MacCormick adapts Christopher Reid's poem so that the man's inner commentary does most of the talking. Rickman sits at the table with the waitress hovering, Massimo nearby, and the bottle slowly emptying.
