The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage), a sorcerer hidden in modern-day New York, recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), an ordinary physics student, as his apprentice. Dave has no idea he possesses dormant magical powers, and Balthazar teaches him to summon fire and defend himself against dark magic. The real battle isn't between sorcerers, but between what Dave thinks he is and what he's capable of becoming.
