The Sound of Music

Austria, 1938. Maria (Julie Andrews), a postulant who can't sit still, is sent as governess to the seven children of Captain Georg von Trapp (Christopher Plummer), a widowed naval officer. She arrives at his formal, silent household and begins teaching the children to sing, filling empty rooms with music. What she finds in those children, and what they find in her, becomes the center around which everything else turns.
