The Source
Leila (Leïla Bekhti) is a young wife who wants the women of her village to stop hauling water up the hill from the spring on their backs. She talks them into a strike, and the men can have no sex until they bring a pipe into the village. Radu Mihăileanu fills the story with songs, jokes and family quarrels, and underneath it sits a plain question of who gets listened to and who is expected to carry the load.
