The Souvenir

“The past never stays in focus.”

Julie (Honor Swinton Byrne), a quiet film student, falls for Anthony (Tom Burke), an older man who is charming, well read, and vague about where his money goes. Joanna Hogg draws on her own film-school years, and Tilda Swinton appears as Julie's mother, Rosalind. Julie is young and sure of her ambitions, and the film shows how easily love can persuade someone to ignore what she can plainly see.
