The Spirit

“Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again.”

Denny Colt (Gabriel Macht), a rookie cop who came back from the dead, wants only to guard Central City from the shadows as The Spirit. Standing against him is the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson), a villain who kills anyone unlucky enough to see his face and has a plan for the whole city. Frank Miller, adapting Will Eisner's comic, shoots it in stark black and white, with single colors cutting through the dark.
