The Squaw Man

(1914)Directed by Cecil B. DeMille, Oscar Apfel74 minDrama, Western

Why would an English captain, Capt. James Wynnegate (Dustin Farnum), let his own name be ruined for money his brother Sir Henry (Monroe Salisbury) took from a charitable fund? He leaves for Wyoming, buys a ranch, and marries Nat-U-Rich (Lilian St. Cyr), and a visit from Lady Diana (Winifred Kingston) reaches him there. This was Cecil B. DeMille's first time directing, with Oscar Apfel, and the first feature shot in what is now Hollywood.
