The St. Valentine's Day Massacre

“The shocking truth about events leading up to one of the most violent days in American history!”

On February 14th, 1929, men dressed as policemen walk into a north-side Chicago garage and open fire with machine guns. The film works backward and forward from that morning, following Al Capone (Jason Robards) as he fights Bugs Moran (Ralph Meeker) for control of the city, and the Gusenberg brothers in Moran's gang, including Peter (George Segal). Roger Corman shoots the city as a place of closed doors and cold daylight, with the violence kept at arm's length.
