“They were given 2 weeks. It lasted 6 days.”

In August 1971, a group of college students answer an ad and are sorted by chance into two camps: prisoners and guards. Kyle Patrick Alvarez builds the film in the basement of a Stanford building, where Professor Philip Zimbardo (Billy Crudup) runs the study and watches from the other side of a camera. Christopher Archer (Michael Angarano) wears the guard's uniform, and Daniel Culp (Ezra Miller) is stripped down to Prisoner 8612.
