The Statement
“At the end of World War II, many of those involved in war crimes were prosecuted. Some got away. Until now.”
A hunted old man keeps moving between safe houses, because Pierre Brossard (Michael Caine), a Nazi collaborator accused of murdering seven Jews sixty years ago, now has hit men on his trail and a Judge, Annemarie Livi (Tilda Swinton), reopening his case. Colonel Roux (Jeremy Northam) is closing in. Norman Jewison sets Brossard beside Nicole (Charlotte Rampling), the wife he left, and what remains between them is the question the case cannot settle.
