The Stepford Wives

“Something is wrong with the women of Stepford.”

The women of Stepford, Connecticut are polite, spotless and always smiling, and Joanna Eberhart (Katharine Ross), a freelance photographer new to town from New York, can't make sense of how perfect they are. Her friend Bobbie (Paula Prentiss) feels it too, and Bryan Forbes lets the two of them trade jokes while the neighbors stay oddly agreeable. Under the plain suburban setting sits an old question of how much of a woman her husband wants her to be.
