The Stepford Wives

“The wives of Stepford have a secret.”

In the small Connecticut town of Stepford, the lawns are trimmed, the women are immaculate, and everyone seems pleased about it. Joanna Eberhart (Nicole Kidman) moves there with her husband Walter (Matthew Broderick), and she and Bobbie Markowitz (Bette Midler) start to wonder what the neighbors are so cheerful about. Frank Oz plays the town as a place where the husbands, led by Mike Wellington (Christopher Walken), have decided what a wife should be.
