The Story of My Wife

Jakob (Gijs Naber) is a sea captain who sits in a cafe with a friend and bets he will marry the first woman who walks through the door. Lizzy (Léa Seydoux) walks in, and he follows through with the same flat calm he brings to the sea. Ildikó Enyedi adapts Milán Füst's 1942 novel, and the marriage turns on jealousy, a husband who cannot stop wondering what his wife is doing when he is not looking.
