The Story of Piera

In postwar Italy, Piera (Isabelle Huppert) grows up in a household run by her mother Eugenia (Hanna Schygulla) and her father Lorenzo (Marcello Mastroianni), two people whose closeness to her crosses lines no child should be asked to cross. Marco Ferreri keeps the family's affection and its damage in the same rooms. Piera is looking for love wherever she can find it, and the people she reaches for are the ones who hurt her.
