The Story of Sin

Ewa Pobratyńska (Grażyna Długołęcka) wants one thing, to reach her lover Count Cyprian Bodzanta (Mieczysław Voit), who has gone to Rome to seek a divorce from his previous wife. She sets out across Europe to find him, and the men she meets on the road each have their own plans for her. Walerian Borowczyk, adapting Stefan Żeromski's novel, follows her through one misfortune after another, and Ewa keeps walking toward Rome with no sign of what it costs her.
