The Strange Case of Angelica

In a Portuguese town, the owners of a hotel send for Isaac (Ricardo Trêpa), a Jewish photographer, to take portraits of their daughter Angélica (Pilar López de Ayala), a young bride who has just died. Manoel de Oliveira has him look at her through the camera lens, and there she seems to open her eyes for him alone. The film is about a love with a dead woman that no one else can see, and it follows Isaac as it takes over his days and nights.
