The Strange World of Coffin Joe

“When entering this world, you'll find the many faces of horror”

Zé do Caixão (José Mojica Marins) is the gravedigger-faced host of this 1968 Brazilian anthology, and he appears only briefly, to introduce three short horror stories. A strange dollmaker, a balloon seller with a foot fetish who haunts the dead, and a professor who stages sadistic rituals each get their own tale. Marins plays host and director at once, and the host's welcome to the viewer stays more intimate than anything in the stories he presents.
