The Stranger by the Shore

“It's nothing special—we're just in love.”

Shun Hashimoto (Taishi Murata) has been cast out by his family after coming out, and on a stretch of coast he strikes up a friendship with Mio Chibana (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), who is about to move away. Years later Mio comes back with a confession, and Akiyo Ohashi's film waits to see how Shun will take it. What sits between the two men is that old friendship and the years since.
