The Strangler

“He can sense your despair...”

Émile (Jacques Perrin) is a young man who picks out women he decides are too depressed to go on, and he strangles them with a white scarf, believing it a kindness. Inspector Simon Dangret (Julien Guiomar) turns to unorthodox methods and enlists a woman who could be the next victim. Paul Vecchiali, working from Émile's childhood trauma, makes him a killer who sees himself as a mercy.
