The Stunt Man

(1980)Directed by Richard Rush131 min · RAction, Comedy, Drama, Thriller, Romance
“If God could do the tricks that we can do, he'd be a happy man...”

Cameron (Steve Railsback) is running from the law when he wanders onto a movie set just as the crew needs a new stunt man. He takes the job to hide, and he falls for the leading lady, Nina Franklin (Barbara Hershey). Richard Rush puts him under the thumb of Eli Cross (Peter O'Toole), a director who stages a World War I picture and seems willing to bend anyone around it, and Cameron can no longer tell where the filming stops.
