The Sum of All Fears

“27,000 nuclear weapons. One is missing.”

In 2002, the Russian president dies suddenly and is succeeded by a man whose politics almost no one in Washington knows. CIA director Bill Cabot (Morgan Freeman) brings in Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck), a young analyst, to read the new leader's intentions. Phil Alden Robinson films the film's central chain of events as one lengthening dread, with a nuclear bomb in an American city at its center.
