The Sunday Woman

(1975)Directed by Luigi Comencini109 minCrime, Mystery, Comedy
“The police have the victim, the weapon and the suspect. What they don't have is the Sunday Woman.”

Commissioner Santamaria (Marcello Mastroianni) is called in when the architect Garrone turns up murdered, and the questions lead him straight into the drawing rooms of Turin's wealthy. Luigi Comencini sends him after Anna Carla (Jacqueline Bisset), the woman he suspects and, against his better sense, starts to love. By the end he is standing among her friends in Turin, a policeman in a rumpled coat among people who never have to hurry.
