“The judge sentenced slumlord Louie Kritski to six months in his own building. He would have been better off in jail.”

Louie Kritski (Joe Pesci) owns a run-down New York tenement and has ignored every complaint about it for years. Rod Daniel puts a man who has never had to live with his own neglect into the cold rooms and rat-filled halls, where repairs mean answering to the neighbors he used to dodge.
