“Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear overalls.”

Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) are underground fixing a water main when a mysterious pipe pulls them into a magical new world and splits them apart. Mario sets out to find his brother, which leads him into a war between Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Bowser (Jack Black). Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath, working with Illumination and Nintendo, build the Mushroom Kingdom from the games' bright, familiar pieces.
