The Swallows of Kabul

Zunaira (Zita Hanrot) and Mohsen (Swann Arlaud) are young and in love in Kabul in the summer of 1998, under Taliban rule, and they still hold on to hopes for a better future. Zabou Breitman and Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec, adapting Yasmina Khadra's novel, animate the city in hand-painted watercolor. Then one foolish gesture turns their lives, and what the two of them have together has to survive it.
